Into The Heart

What gives a place its identity? Is it the buildings, the streets, the people, or is it the work they do? This book is a map that takes you on a journey into the heart of Yelahanka Old Town and helps you uncover the real face of its identity. Jaishree uses “work and activities” as her lens to depict the lives of people who live in the area. Her lens further zooms into the professions and perspectives of people that collectively give Yelahanka its unique identity and challenges our perception of work and livelihood.

Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai

A house boxes within it stories of real people, small tales of long forgotten incidences, some contain giggles and the emotions of residents living in it. They are not just houses, they are homes, breathing and living testimony of emotions.

The author has mapped out emotions observed from houses in Yelahanka Old Town and depicted how similar emotions are experienced and expressd differently by different peoplein different situations. The author has also mapped a comparison between her emotions v/s resident’s emotions to showcase the contrast between a subject and a cameraman.
The book gives a perspective of how all of us anatomically similar, are psychologically poles apart and how our identity lie in the uniqueness of our emotions and thought patterns.
