When I Met Her

Is what we see always real? Do the stories we create or the assumptions that we form, create a reality that is the same as what exists?
These were some of the questions the author tackles with, as she collects the stories of the Women of Yelahanka. Witnessing their lives, first hand changed the way had a tremendous influence on her and altered the way she looked at things.
This book highlights a walk with the author along the paths of Old Town Yelahanka, offering a tiny peek into her experiences.

The Kogilu Way

Despite having no education, how are some of the concepts of visual merchandising or design aesthetics embedded in their shops? The residents of Yelahanka, whether they know it or not, are all designers. Their innate design skills have helped them come a long way. Sonira, in her book, amalgamates her views on the design process with what she observes on the streets. It is often said that there is no education like adversity. Come along on a journey with the author as she meets the Coco Chanels and the Mark Jacobs of Yelahanka.

Explaining the Unexplainable

Shreya's book talks about the beliefs that drive the people of Yelahanka Old Town. Discovering this by tracing the history and origins of temples, the author was a spectator to the hidden secrets the temples hold. The author was deeply impacted by the co-existence of multiple faiths and talks about the history and origin of the temples but also keenly observed the way people have built up their lives around it.
